I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of my favorite holiday.
I can’t stop thinking about what’s about to go down in a couple of weeks.
My heart races at the idea that I’m going to be celebrating with one of my closest friends and her family so soon.

It’s not just the holiday that I’m thankful for.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love gathering around the table.
I love all the preparation for the meal.

What I love the most is the time of reflection that comes with this holiday.
We all have so much to be thankful for.
And the Lord continues to bring up different things for me to remember–to give thanks for.

In order to start listing out some of the things I’m thankful for, I’ve been posting on Instagram a photo every day. I want to remember. I want to remind myself of all the things, people, and memories that have shaped me and grown me. I need to be reminded.

There’s always a temptation to forget.
Other things come up, and it’s easy to complain. It’s easy to forget all that the Lord has done and accomplished.

In this season of Thanksgiving, I want to challenge you to spend some time–even if it’s just 5 minutes–and write down a couple of things you’re thankful for. People, memories, things, privileges, feelings, whatever. Let the Lord bring up the things He wants you to remember and give thanks for.

Thanksgiving.

It’s my favorite.

And it’s coming.
